Home Is Where the Heart Is

Have you ever heard of that well known idiom, “Home is where the heart is”? If you’re not familiar, it means that your home will always be the place for which you feel the deepest affection. And often, it’s not a house at all. Instead, it’s a special relationship. So maybe a husband or wife, a parent or child, or a loved one that is so special that nowhere feels more safe and secure than when you’re with them. But whether it’s a location or a relationship, there’s just no greater joy in the world than coming home!

Jesus gives a picture of that in John 14 when He says to His disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. But it is so and I’m going to prepare a place for you. And I will come again to take you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” Do you see? Jesus promises that home is truly where the heart is, and our hearts are to love Him more than anything. Because it’s only in Him that we will be safe and secure in our Father’s house for all eternity, and it's only in Him that we will experience the joy of heaven.

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
