How Much is Jesus Worth?

How much do you think Jesus is worth? I mean, if you had to put a dollar figure on the Son of Man. What value would you give Him? And would you be willing to pay it?

I ask you this question because there’s an unbelievable event that takes place in John chapter 12. Jesus has just raised Lazarus from the dead. That happens in chapter 11, and now, He’s invited to a dinner that is taking place with Lazarus, Mary, and Martha. At that dinner, Mary takes an expensive perfume, and she pours it all over Jesus’ feet.  Then, she wipes it with her hair. Now, you need to realize that we’re told that this perfume was worth a year’s salary. If we just take the current minimum wage of $7.25, she poured over $26,000 on His feet and the floor.

Now Jesus obviously believes that Jesus is well worth the money. Why?  Because He just raised Lazarus from the dead.  So He’s proven that He in fact is the resurrection and the life.  Which also means, according to John 11:25-26, that whoever believes in Him will live even if He dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Him will never die. But here’s the million dollar question. How much is Jesus worth to you? Do you love Him? Do you believe in Him? And would you be willing to pour a year’s worth of your wages at His feet?

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
