Salvation and Safety in One Statement

In John chapter 10, Jesus makes this bold statement, “I am the door of the sheep. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Now what a radical statement that is, but what is Jesus really saying?

Well, He’s saying the same thing that He said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” So I am the door. If you will believe in Me and trust that I am the only path to God, I can promise you two things. The first, that you will be saved, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved.” And the second, that you will go in and out and find pasture. You will be safe from the wolves and the thieves that come only to steal and kill and destroy. So what is Jesus really saying when He says, “I am the door.” He’s promising that you will not only be saved, but you will be safe for all eternity.

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
