Witnesses that Convict Jesus as the Messiah
Witnesses that Convict Jesus as the Messiah
Do you know what is essential in a court of law to convict a person of a crime? Witnesses. And what nails down a conviction? Many witnesses, who are all saying the same thing.
Now, did you know, that in the first chapter of John, we’re given 4 different witnesses? And they’re all declaring the same thing about Jesus, that He indeed is the Christ. Andrew says, “We have found the Messiah.” Philip declares, “We’ve found the One whom Moses and the prophets wrote about.” Nathanael rejoices, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God.” And last but not least is John the Baptist, the forerunner to the Messiah, who says, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” So if you’re looking for witnesses to testify that Jesus is the Christ, the One and only Savior, who can save you from your sins. Look no further than John chapter 1. But here’s the question, are you willing to listen to their testimony?
