1 Corinthians 9:15-23
Sermon Theme: Caricatures of Christianity have made people suspicious of those who share the hope of Jesus. Paul gives us help to shape the way we approach others with the truth.
I. WE SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED (1 Cor. 9:15-18)
A. The challenges of professional preaching
B. The freedom of preaching without a paycheck
II. WE SERVE OTHERS WITH HOPE OF SHARING CHRIST (1 Cor. 9:19-23)
A. Pandering to others won't point them to Christ, but...
B. Planting and watering as we come out of hibernation
Application: Mature Christians will have an ever-growing love for their Savior Jesus Christ that looks like loving others where they are as they hope to share the gospel.
- What were you like when people first shared the gospel with you?
- Who do you hope to win to Christ? Have you considered why?
- How might you be adding offense that mutes you sharing the gospel?
- Will you invite someone to church next week? Who?
