Hebrews 1:1-3

Sermon Theme: God has spoken in many portions and in many ways in and through the Old Testament, but He has spoken finally and definitively in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must hear His words, embrace His salvation, and submit to His Lordship over our lives! 

I. God's O.T. Revelation - (Heb 1:1)

    A. Glorious Reality: God Spoke - (Heb. 1:1)

        1. In the Past

        2. To Our Fathers

        3. By the Prophets

        4. At Many Times and In Many Ways

    B. Great Application: Listen to His Word 

        1. The O.T. is Necessary 

        2. The O.T. is Redemptive    

II. God's Final Revelation - (Heb. 1:2) 

    A. Greater Reality:God Has Spoken - (Heb. 1:2)

        1. In These Last Days

        2. To Us

        3. By His Son 

        4. Finally and Fully

    B. Greater Description: Jesus is God 

        1. The Son is the Promised Kind - (Ps. 2, 2 Sam. 7)

        2. The Son is the Agent of Creation - (John 1:1-3)

III. God's Glorious Salvation - (Heb. 1:3)

    A. Jesus is God in the Flesh - (Heb. 1:3a)

    B. Jesus Upholds the Universe - (Heb. 1:3b)

    C. Jesus is the Savior of the World - (Heb. 1:3d)

    D. Jesus Rules as Our Risen King - (Heb. 1:3d)
