Born Again Christian.  Is There Another Kind?

Have you ever been asked, “Are you one of those born again Christians?”  Now it has always fascinated me that by the question itself, the asker is suggesting that there are born again Christians, and there are Christians who are not born again.

But listen to what Jesus says in John chapter 3, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again.”  Yes, every one of us has been born of the flesh, physical birth.  But Jesus is saying that in order to have spiritual life, enter the Kingdom of God, and go to heaven, you must born again, which only comes by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  So when I’m asked, “Are you one of those born again Christians?”  I always answer, “Is there another kind?”
