Comfort Regardless of the Calamity

Comfort Regardless of the Calamity

Are you worried about the things that are going on in your life?  Are you anxious about your job, your health, your finances, and all the issues that are going on in the world right now?  Where is peace to be found?  Where are comfort and hope and perspective?

Well, Jesus has says some pretty helpful things to say about that in John chapter 6. In verse 40, He said, “This is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise Him up on the last day.”  He also said, “This is the will of Him who sent Me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given Me, but raise it up on the last day.”  Because Jesus has conquered sin and death and the grave and rose on the third day, He can promise our future resurrection, that we too will rise.  Do you see?  When you are absolutely convinced that your future is secure; you can have real comfort in the here and now.  In fact, you can say, regardless of the situation, "It is well with my soul!"  So here’s the question, where are you finding your comfort?  And is it in Jesus?

Something to think about from the Proclamation point of view.
