Do Not Be Unbelieving, But Believing!
Do Not Be Unbelieving, But Believing!
In John chapter 20, the Apostle gives us the purpose for writing his Gospel. In verses 30 and 31, he says, “Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in His name.”
The Jews were constantly looking for a sign. In fact, in the immediate context, the quintessential Jew, Thomas, just demanded, “Unless I see in His hands the mark of the nails… I will never believe.” And what’s the ultimate sign? It’s Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. And what does Jesus do? He appears to Thomas and says to him, “Look! See the holes in my hands. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas believed. But how about you? Are you believing in Jesus?
