Sermon Theme – As the family of God, members of Christ’s church should treat one another with love and respect. This includes wise and compassionate support and care of those who are truly in need.

          I. LOVE OTHERS LIKE FAMILY – (5:1-2)

               A. Do Not Rebuke as an Enemy – (v.1a)

          II. LOVE THOSE WITHOUT FAMILY – (5:3-16)

               A. Responsibility of the Family – (vv.3-8)
                   1. Command to honor widows – (v.3)
                   2. Reason to prioritize the family – (v.4)
                   3. Identify true widows – (vv.5-7)
                   4. Responsibility of the family – (v.8)

               B. Responsibility of the Church – (vv.9-16)
                   1. Older godly widows – (vv.9-10)
                   2. Younger ungodly widows – (vv.11-13)
                   3. Younger godly widows – (vv.14-15)
                   4. Command to honor widows – (v.16)
